"My art is a self-taught interpretation of the designs found in nature. I am always paying attention to its forms, patterns, and colors but find the challenge in being creative and producing something completely original rather than mastering the art of reproduction. it's the sight of something different that has always managed to catch my eye and this realization has evolved into the primary goal in my art. I am not painting as the eye sees, but rather how my mind dissolves an image into each and every individual element creating the whole".
Brian Sylvester is a Florida native who grew up surrounded by the mangroves, birds, fish, flowers, oceans, and waves he is inspired to paint. In 2009, he packed up his family and relocated to Costa Rica to live the jungle beach life. When Brian is not painting in his home studio, he is surfing, shaping custom surfboards, creating designs for private clients, building thatch roofs, working in the yard, and living la pura vida with his wife, 2 teenage daughters, 2 dogs, a cat, and the jungle wildlife that stop by for a visit.
